Before I was a photographer, I was a mom with a camera taking way too many pictures of my two little girls.
What started as a way to hold onto those everyday moments quickly became something I fell in love with. When I began running a daycare for the children in my mommy group, every holiday somehow turned into a photoshoot. The kids would arrive in their best outfits, and my dad and husband would help me build little sets and props—from pumpkin stands to holiday backdrops—so we could make each one feel special.
Before long, I started photographing families for Christmas cards, Santa sessions, graduations, and all the milestones in between. Eventually, I decided to take my passion even further by learning studio lighting, and today I photograph families both indoors and outdoors.
As a mom, I know how quickly these seasons of life pass. The tiny hands, the missing teeth, the way your kids laugh together, and even the little expressions you see every day won't stay exactly the same forever.
That's what I love most about photography. A photograph gives us a way to hold onto a moment—and the feeling that came with it—for just a little longer.
